Last Wednesday, July 8, the walls of the Municipal Center for Culture and Reading in Gręboszów were teeming with extraordinary creativity. All thanks to unique comic book workshops organized for young people aged 13-18. The event took place as part of the project "Steadfast from Gręboszowa: Cyfrowa Sztafeta Pamięci 1946-2026".
The main goal of the meeting was to create a graphic story inspired by local history – more precisely, an unusual event, which was Józef Piłsudski's overnight stay in Gręboszów. The young people had a unique opportunity to combine artistic passion with discovering regional national heritage under the supervision of a professional.
The classes were conducted by a renowned cartoonist and author – Robert Trojanowski from the Ministry of Comics. Thanks to his vast experience and contagious passion, the participants quickly overcame their first resistance to drawing. The host repeatedly emphasized that the most important thing in comics is the idea and the desire to tell a story, not a perfect art workshop.
The young artists worked with commitment on subsequent frames, putting their own visions of the Commandant's historical stay on paper. The result of several hours of intensive work are unique comic boards that combine historical narration with youthful expression and a modern form of expression.
