Foundation of Franciszek Dembiński — church 1650

Baroque church in Gręboszów founded by the voivode of Kraków — consecrated in 1675.
The present church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Gręboszów was built in 1650 from the foundation of Franciszek Dembiński, voivode of Krakow, starost of Bochnia and Wieliczka. Consecrated by Bishop Mikołaj Oborski in 1675.
In the nineteenth century, the church was expanded many times: in 1863 the southern aisle (St. Anne's Chapel) was added, in 1864 the tower was raised, and in 1875 — the northern aisle with the sarcophagus of General Józef Count Załuski. The parish existed as early as the 13th century — the new church replaced the earlier temple and became the center of religious life of the entire valley. The history of the founding families, commemorative plaques (m.in. Ruszkowska from 1693) and the inventory of furnishings from the Burzyński period were described by Jakub Bojko in _Okruszynach of Gremboszowa_ (1911) — see exposition.
