Church of St. Sigismund in Żelichów

A wooden church moved in 1938 from Pleśna, with a late Gothic polyptych.
The church was built in 1642 in Pleśna near Tarnów. After the brick church was built there, the wooden structure was moved to Żelichów in 1938 and incorporated into the manor chapel existing since the mid-nineteenth century. In 1665, the church was restored after the war of George II Rákoczi. The parish was erected on February 10, 1958.
It is a log church, shuttered, covered with shingles, single-nave with a chancel, sacristy and porch closed on three sides; above the nave there is a turret for a signet. It is entered into the register of monuments (no. 331, 6 December 1971) and included in the Wooden Architecture Trail in Małopolska.
In the main altar, there is a late-Gothic polyptych from the beginning of the 16th century (the workshop of Jakub Beinhart, moved from Tymowa in Lower Silesia). The interior is rich in Baroque sculptures, paintings, an eighteenth-century pulpit and a late Gothic group of the Crucifixion on a rainbow beam.
