Trade routes and roads in the Old Polish period

The Vistula, the Dunajec and the Tarnów Inn — roads that shaped the settlement in the commune.
The area of the municipality of Gręboszów was off the beaten track of the main arteries, but several roads were of regional importance. The most important were the Vistula and Dunajec — along the valleys, connections from Hungary developed through Nowy Sącz, Wojnicz and Opatowiec towards Sandomierz ("Ruthenian route").
The Tarnów Inn ran along the right bank of the Dunajec River (Tarnów – Żabno – Otfinów – Hubenice – Nowy Korczyn). From Tarnów through Lisia Góra, Dąbrowa, Breń, Olesno, Gręboszów and Ujście Jezuickie to Opatowiec there was a road connecting the region with a ferry on the Vistula. These routes were conducive to trade and agricultural settlement in the Sandomierz Valley.
