Folk schools in the commune (1874–1918)

A network of single-class schools in Borusowa, Gręboszów, Ujście Jezuicki, Wola Żelichowska, Zalipie and Żelichów.
The tradition of education in the village dates back to at least 1539, when a parish school operated in the village (the era of the wooden church, described by Długosz). In the records of 1651, the rector of the school was mentioned — Bojko quotes these records in the chapter Crumbs from Gremboszów (1911). The official *Szematyzm Galicji* for the year 1870 (p. 413) lists trivial schools in the Dąbrowa district — in Gręboszów the teacher was Marceli Stohandel. In the entry of the Geographical Dictionary (1881) a one-class school was mentioned on the road from Pińczów to Połaniec.
In the years 1874–1918, numerous reorganizations of the school system took place in the Dąbrowa district. In the commune Gręboszów there were schools in the following towns (selected names of teachers):
Borusowa — Walery Wrześniowski, Maria Schrötter; Gręboszów — Franciszek Golonka, Piotr Stolarz, Paulina Krawczyk, Katarzyna Świątek; Ujście Jezuickie — Piotr Habel; Wola Żelichowska — Józef Lesiak; Zalipie — Paweł Kluza, Helena Kluza, Zofia Dulowska; Żelichów — Agnieszka Mikuła.
During the period of Galician autonomy, there was no hospital as a permanent clinic in the Dąbrowa district; the district doctor was paid from state funds, and the inhabitants used offices in Dąbrowa Tarnowska, Żabno or Szczucin. A search of *Szematyzm* (pp. 557–558) confirms that there is no entry for the Dąbrowa district in the official list of commune credit unions — scans in the gallery.
